Greg “Djembe G” Whitt combines his passion for percussion, formal studies in communication, and a background in leadership and service to offer facilitated community drumming events. He founded the Raleigh Drum Circle in 2002 as a non-profit rhythm-based community outreach effort. He launched Oak City Drums in 2004 as a consignment effort to get unused and unloved drums out of people's closets and into the hands of aspiring hand drummers. OCD has since evolved to offer rhythm events, percussive performance, and drumming education.
Greg has been a professional member of the Drum Circle Facilitators Guild since 2005. He subscribes to Arthur Hull's Village Music Circles methodology. Among others, Greg has lead events for organizations such as:
